Hale Nature Trail
Loon Lake Nature Park
Only 3.3 miles north of Hale off of M-65 you will find Hale’s newest nature park developed in 2009. With the beautiful backdrop of wooded marsh lands, this 12-acre nature park is a home to many species of wildlife and birds. The uniquely designed wooden boardwalk takes you from dry land out to the middle of small inland lake. Here you can see many schools of fish, turtles, frogs as well as beautiful water foliage that are native to Northern Michigan. This is definitely something to add to your to do list while visiting Hale and the Sixty Lakes area. Bring your lunch and enjoy a day with your family surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of the northern woods.
