Hale and the surrounding area offer some great hunting opportunities. With the Huron National Forest and the abundance of inland lakes, Hale has a wealth of game for the avid hunter. Small game, wild turkey, whitetail deer, and bear present a variety of challenges to the sportsman. The white-tail is probably the most sought after game in our area. An outbreak of buck fever starts to spread across our area beginning in October. With the first signs of fall, families begin their annual tradition of getting together and preparing for the upcoming hunting season.
With our sixty lakes, we can boast of having some of the best duck and goose hunting in Northeast Michigan. Nothing is more exhilarating than sitting in your boat or blind with your well-trained dog by your side watching the mist rise on the water as the sun breaks over your shoulder while you wait for that big flock of geese or ducks to descend from the sky. |
